Rebecca Black was born on June 21st, 1997 in Irvine, California. Her father and mother are both veterinarians, coming from Mexican and Italian descent. She also has one brother. Black has been mostly homeschooled due to verbal bullying in her life, only being in public school for awhile to attend Musical Theater programs. In late 2010, Black was told by a classmate about a music company called ARK. Black's mother paid $4,000 for Black's song, the famous "Friday". After it was uploaded, it became a VERY quick viral sensation. However, the reviews of the song were extensively negative. For better or for worse, Black became famous and got to even go on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Later, ARK tried to make more money off of "Friday", charging to view the video on YouTube. Black left ARK and started her own independent record label known as RB Records. She later got to be on Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night" music video. She currently has 5 singles out at the moment, and a deal with Maker Studios for her YouTube videos. She has admitted that she is a big fan of pop singer Justin Bieber.
